I love reading, I find it to be one of the most fulfilling things I do in life. Whether it be fact or fiction, there’s an immense amount to learn from books.
Fiction intrigues me because the characters open up a window to the author’s soul – particularly for philosophical writers such as Tolstoy.
War & Peace was an incredible book, not necessarily because of it’s story, but because the characters thoughts and actions reflect Tolstoy’s own view of the world. You don’t chat about those sort of deep, intellectual views with your mates in the pub, because for some reason, doing so might be considered socially unacceptable. With a book however, the author can unleash his beliefs and emotion onto the world.
